Case Study : Restoring Mobility and Relieving Knee Pain

Case Study:

About a week ago, my family and I were celebrating Mother's Day at a restaurant. After finishing our meal, we headed back to our car. However, as my dad was descending the stairs, he misstepped and nearly collided with a table in front of him. Although he didn't fall, a few days later, he began experiencing pain in the lateral region of his left knee while walking.

As a physiotherapist specializing in Visceral Manipulation (VM), I suspected that there might be some internal organ restrictions contributing to his discomfort. During the assessment known as Local Listening (LL), we discovered that his left kidney had dropped, a condition referred to as kidney ptosis. Additional assessments, such as Straight Leg Raise (SLR) and Trunk Lateral Flexion, also yielded positive findings.

Fun Fact: Unlike other organs such as the liver, stomach, gallbladder, and small intestine, the kidneys receive minimal support from ligamentous tissue and lack direct supporting ligaments. Consequently, they are more sensitive to the various forces, traumas, and assaults endured by the body.

Upon addressing the restriction in my dad's left kidney, we identified additional organ and nerve restrictions involving the prostate, bladder, and common peroneal nerve. During the treatment, my dad experienced a pulling sensation or soreness in his left leg as we performed nerve stretches. After dedicating 30 minutes to the treatment, we retested his left knee by asking him to take a walk. And to our delight, the pain had significantly reduced by 80-90%, allowing him to walk with improved ease and reduced tightness around the knee joint.

While our work is not yet complete, we are allowing the body time to heal before scheduling the next session. It's important to address any pain, discomfort, or unusual sensations promptly to prevent the development of further restrictions and complications within the body. I encourage you to seek professional help when you experience such symptoms. By doing so, you can save both time and money by addressing the issue early on.
